The Saskatchewan Roughriders revealed Thursday what it’s going to cost to attend the 2020 Grey Cup at Mosaic Stadium.
Prices for tickets in an expanded Pil Country — the standing area in the south end of the stadium — are $110 and $125. Tickets in the bowl seats range from $199 to $475.
The Roughriders also announced that the capacity of the stadium will be approximately 35,000. It was possible to expand capacity to around 40,000, but the decision was made not to do so because it would force the closure of the south concourse for six to eight weeks.
“We’re honoured to host the 2020 Grey Cup and the largest annual sports and entertainment event in Canada,” Roughriders chief brand officer Anthony Partipilo said in a media release.
“It’s the first time the new state-of-the-art Mosaic Stadium will host the Grey Cup and we can’t wait to showcase this magnificent facility to sports fans across the world. Our goal is to provide the ultimate Grey Cup experience.”
Tickets for the Grey Cup game and the Grey Cup Festival are to be available to the general public on June 16.
Season-ticket holders were able to renew their tickets and secure their seats for the Grey Cup game starting Thursday. Those who renew can keep their seats for the CFL’s championship game or exchange their tickets for a seat of equal or lesser value at a later date.
The Roughriders noted that season-ticket holders will get a $25 discount on each Grey Cup ticket.
Fans who want to purchase season tickets for 2020 and get seats to the Grey Cup can sign up for the season-ticket wait list at Riderville.com. People on the wait list can purchase season tickets starting on Feb. 18.
New season-ticket holders won’t be guaranteed their 2020 season seats for the Grey Cup, but they will be guaranteed a seat.
The Roughriders also announced that most of their season tickets will cost the same as they did in 2019, and approximately 3,700 tickets will cost less than they did last season.
