A spike belt ended a Regina Police Service investigation into a stolen vehicle Thursday.
According to the police, a report was received at about 8:40 a.m., of a potential stolen Ford F-150 pickup. Officers located the vehicle and rolled out a spike belt in the area of Stapleford Crescent in the Regent Park neighbourhood.
After running over the spike belt, the truck eventually stopped and the driver ran off. He was arrested nearby and a search found a gun, ammunition and stolen property.
A 23-year-old Regina man faces six weapons charges, as well as three charges for possession of stolen property and one for driving while prohibited.
He made his first court appearance on Friday.
