A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a man whom the RCMP alleges didn’t pay subcontractors for work they did on a construction project in Yorkton.
In a media release Wednesday, the Yorkton RCMP said it’s trying to find 37-year-old Christos Eutathios Fotopoulos, the owner of Calgary-based GNRL Construction.
The RCMP said its General Investigation Section started a fraud investigation in December of 2016 into the work being done on a large clothing store in Yorkton.
GNRL Construction had won the bid to renovate the store and had hired local companies as subcontractors. The RCMP alleges that GNRL Construction didn’t pay the subcontractors for the work they did.
Fotopoulos is charged with fraud over $5,000, theft over $5,000 and breach of trust under the Criminal Code.
Anyone with information about Fotopoulos’ whereabouts is asked to call the Yorkton GIS at 1-306-786-4520 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
