Harvey Plum is celebrating a major windfall.
The Battleford man won the $2-million Western 6-49 jackpot in the Oct. 19 draw.
“I looked up the numbers on my phone, and I saw that I had all six. My mouth was gaping,” he said in a Saskatchewan Lotteries media release. “I kind of pinched myself, and then looked again.”
Despite the online verification, Plum explained he had to double-check at a retailers ticket checker to be certain.
“I didn’t get too excited, and I didn’t have a heart attack,” Plum laughed. “It feels great. It feels amazing.”
Plum plans to pay off a car loan and some bills before spending time travelling.
There’s one thing he’s certain of though.
“I won’t be working after this.”
Plum bought his $5 quick-pick ticket and extra at the Petro-Canada at 352-22 Street West in Battleford.
