8:30 – On Tuesday, the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) announced plans to loosen the tight regulations around retail cannabis stores, allowing them into communities of any size (the previous rules prohibited stores in communities with fewer than 2,500 people) and removing the cap on how many stores can open in each community. The regulations will come into effect over the next 11 months, and while municipalities can still impose their own rules, SLGA says the changes will leave the limits on retail cannabis up to the competitive free market. Gene Makowski is minister responsible for SLGA, and he joins Drew to discuss the changes and the future of cannabis sales in Saskatchewan.

10:00 – We interviewed Meghan Murphy last Monday when protesters, activist groups, and event Toronto Mayor John Tory were working to cancel her speaking event on gender at the Toronto Public Library. Murphy’s argument that recognizing gender based on self-identification can harm women has led to accusations of transphobia, and hundreds turned up to protest the event Tuesday evening. After the event, attendees were mobbed and jeered by a crowd of protesters, and police had to escort them out for their safety. Murphy joins Drew now to talk about the event, the protests, and the importance of free speech – especially when that speech is unpopular.
