Two people have been arrested in connection with a string of vehicle break-ins in the area around Regina’s General Hospital.
The Regina Police Service said in a media release Monday that a 31-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man are facing charges “after a lengthy investigation into recovered stolen property.”
The thefts date back to early July. In many of the incidents, someone smashed the front passenger window of a parked vehicle and stole items from inside.
Police say some of the property then was resold to pawn shops, with the suspects pretending to be the real owners of the items.
On Oct. 24, police executed a search warrant on a house in the 1300 block of Victoria Avenue. The search found items that had been reported stolen in the smash-and-grabs.
The charges against the duo include break, enter and theft, theft from an auto, possession of stolen property, and trafficking in stolen property.
The couple is to appear in court on Dec. 12.
