Three teens appeared in Saskatoon provincial court Thursday morning in connection to the Saturday shooting death of a 15-year-old Saskatoon boy.
The accused, two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old, cannot be named due to their ages. One 15-year-old made his first court appearance Wednesday, while the others made their first court appearance Thursday.
The three are charged separately with offences that include second-degree murder, possession of a firearm, breach of probation, and breach of undertaking.
The possession of a firearm charge was revealed to be a long-barreled rifle Wednesday.
The accused were given a non-contact order to five underaged individuals who cannot be named, which include the accused and witnesses.
During Thursday’s court appearance, the gallery was packed to the door with onlookers who included the accused’s family members and social workers.
On Monday, an autopsy revealed the cause of death of the 15-year-old boy was by gunshot wound.
He was found in “medical distress” just before noon Saturday at a business in the 2300 block of Arlington Avenue. They attempted to use life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful.
The three accused teens were remanded into custody and will return to Saskatoon provincial court on Nov. 15 at 9:30 a.m.
