The driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian Saturday night in Regina has been charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
A 51-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after she was hit while crossing Victoria Avenue at Embury Street just after 8:30 p.m.
According to the Regina Police Service, a vehicle in the left eastbound lane of Victoria had stopped for the woman as she crossed the street, but a vehicle in the right eastbound lane didn’t stop and hit the woman.
The driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene. After further investigation, police issued a ticket to the driver for passing a vehicle that was stopped for a pedestrian.
Anyone with further information is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500.
