A 14-year-old boy from the Wadena area is facing charges in connection with two coffee-throwing incidents in Regina in the summer.
The Regina Police Service said Thursday the boy was arrested by members of the Wadena RCMP detachment.
The teen, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon.
The incident happened on July 30 at about 9:05 p.m., when a group of teens approached a man in the parking lot of a shopping centre in the 2100 block of Prince of Wales Drive and asked him for the time.
One of the young men then threw the contents of a coffee cup on the man. The youths ran to another nearby shopping centre parking lot, where a man who was sitting outside had coffee thrown on him as well.
One of the youths posted a recording of the second incident on Facebook.
Neither victim was injured.
The youth who was charged is to make his first court appearance in court on Dec. 5.
