Saskatoon police have charged two women in connection with the theft of medical supplies taken from a family’s porch Tuesday afternoon.
Police also recovered the stolen medical supplies.
In a Facebook post after the theft was discovered, Adam Leptich, the father of Leo, who has a rare genetic skin condition called ‘Epidermolysis bullosa,’ posted video footage from the incident along with screenshots of the suspects.
Epidermolysis bullosa is commonly known as E.B. It is a condition that makes skin so fragile it can tear or blister at the slightest touch.
Children born with E.B. are often called ‘Butterfly Children’ because their skin seems as fragile as a butterfly wing.
The medical supplies that were stolen included bandages that are essential to keep Leo healthy.
The women, ages 22 and 23, are charged with theft over $5,000.
