Three people are facing a total of 38 charges after an incident Saturday that ended in Regina’s Eastview neighbourhood.
In a media release Monday, the Regina Police Service said an officer attempted to stop a vehicle Saturday just after 9 p.m.
The vehicle sped off, but other police vehicles were able to follow the car into an alley in the Eastview area. The three occupants got out, grabbed a bag out of the trunk and ran away.
Officers soon stopped two women and a man walking in the area, but they were allowed to go on their way after giving their names to police.
According to police, the officers then discovered the vehicle was registered to one of the women, who had given officers a false name. The three soon were found again and detained.
Officers searched the bag the trio had taken from the car and discovered a loaded rifle.
