The Saskatoon Blades have a new forward, and he’s no stranger to the Bridge City.
The team has acquired Saskatoon-born 18-year-old Alex Morozoff from the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Going the other way is a sixth-round draft pick in 2023.

Before being drafted into the WHL with the 149th overall selection by the Red Deer Rebels in 2016, Morozoff suited up for the Saskatoon Contacts.
He played 74 games with the Contacts, totaling 20 goals and 41 points.
Morozoff has played in 116 WHL games with Red Deer and Seattle, recording 18 goals and 10 assists in that span.
In 2019-20, the forward has four goals and an assist in 24 games.
In a press release, Blades general manager Colin Priestner said, “We’re pleased to add Alex to the Blades organization, he’s a good local player who can play both centre and on the wing. As Alex is only 18, he fits nicely into the structure of our team age-wise.”
Priestner said Morozoff will join the team Wednesday.
The team is to continue its current homestand Tuesday night, when it’s to take on Medicine Hat at 7 p.m. at the SaskTel Centre.
Following the Tuesday matchup, the Blades will have two more games at home — Friday against the Kamloops Blazers and Sunday versus the Prince Albert Raiders — before hitting the road to begin a home-and-home against Prince Albert on Dec. 27.
