Andrew Scheer has resigned as leader of the Conservative Party.
The MP for Regina-Qu’Appelle has been under fire since the Conservatives lost the federal election on Oct. 21.

According to reports, Scheer called a special caucus meeting at which he made the announcement. He then made it official in the House of Commons.
Scheer has been the leader of the Conservatives since 2017.
