Josh Gordon has drawn the ire of the NFL, again.
This time the receiver ran afoul of the substance abuse program, which found him with performance-enhancing drugs.
Gordon’s most notable infractions have been marijuana, which I still can’t believe the NFL continues to have on its substance abuse test list. I’ve been an open advocate to allow players to use medicinal marijuana over opioids, and urged Gordon to try the CFL, a league that doesn’t even test for pot.
But Gordon is in the NFL and it does test and he has broken the rules over and over and over again.
When do you say “enough is enough,” stop suspending Gordon indefinitely and just say, “His chance at the NFL is over”?
Yes, marijuana shouldn’t be on the banned substance list, but it is. He gets mandatory testing. He knows the rules. You break the rules, you don’t play.
And here we are again. I’m starting to think he should finally be out of chances.
