The Regina Police Service is seeking the public’s help in finding three men allegedly involved in a daytime stabbing Monday in the city’s Normanview neighbourhood.
In an emailed news release, the police service said officers were called to the area of the 5000 block of Sherwood Drive for a report of a man who was stabbed in the right arm at 12:50 p.m.
Officers who arrived found a 53-year-old man with a stab wound in his right forearm.
He told police he had been “walking in the area of Hanbidge Crescent and Sherwood Drive when he was approached by three males who demanded money. When the victim replied that he had no money, one of the three suspects stabbed him in the arm,” the news release said.
The man then walked to the 5000 block of Sherwood Drive and the police were called.
He said he didn’t know the suspects.
The man said the suspect who stabbed him is a “male, (has a) slim build, and wearing camo pants, a black jacket, a black hoodie with the hood up and a blue bandana. The weapon was a butcher style knife with black tape wrapped around the handle.
“The second suspect was described as male, short, (with a) stocky build, wearing white pants, a light neon green jacket and a blue bandana. The third suspect was described as male, tall and wearing grey sweat pants, and a dark green canvas jacket,” the release said.
