A 25-year-old man is facing drug and weapon charges after an incident at a business near the Pasqua Hospital Christmas Day.
In a media release, Regina police said they initially received a call around 4 a.m. about a robbery at a business in the 1000 block of Pasqua Street.
The caller told police that a man had walked in and threatened a staff member with a knife before leaving in a taxi.
Officers were able to pull over the cab nearby in the 900 block of Albert Street and arrest the suspect.
No one was hurt.
Although the suspect brought a knife into the business and threatened its worker, police said “there was no evidence to suggest a robbery or an attempted robbery occurred.”
The 25-year-old man arrested is now charged with assault with a weapon, possession of methamphetamine and fail to comply with conditions of a release order.
He’ll make his first court appearance on Friday morning.
