The Regina Police Service is investigating an incident in which two people were stabbed early Saturday.
According to police, officers were dispatched Saturday at about 3:25 a.m., to a home in the 400 block of Connaught Street for a report of a weapons offence. Upon arrival, officers found a 57-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman being treated by paramedics for stab wounds.
Police were told four women had been asked to leave the house by one of the residents after what police described as “a confrontation.” The women left, but then started banging on the house’s windows and doors.
“When a resident opened the door to get them to stop, the females rushed in and attempted to steal belongings,” the police said in a media release. “During his attempt to stop the theft, the 57-year-old male was stabbed by one of the females. While attempting to intervene, the 28-year-old female was also assaulted.”
The suspects then fled.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
