One of the newest online scams to hit Saskatchewan is invoking the name of Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
The school and the Moose Jaw Police Service revealed Monday that emails with the subject lines “Document Pending” or “Saskatchewan Polytechnic — Time Jobs Opportunity” have been sent out by scammers.
Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the police said anyone who receives those emails shouldn’t click on any of the links, open any of the attachments or reply to the message. The emails should be deleted immediately.
The Moose Jaw Police Service said it had received one complaint about the attempted fraud and will be investigating.
Anyone who has been a victim of fraud through a phishing scam is urged to contact their local police service.
