Things Engraved has announced it will be closing retail stores.
The gifting company has two locations in Regina, one in the Southland Mall and the other in the Northgate Mall.
“It is no secret that the current brick-and-mortar retail marketplace has not been a thriving sector of the Canadian economy, and this has unfortunately rung true for Things Engraved,” the company said in a statement posted to its website.
The business was founded in 1982. Its online store will remain open until further notice.
Things Engraved’s statement says its operations were losing money every day and it had to act fast so it would still have the funds to meet obligations to employees, “notably pay in lieu of notice requirements.”
Customers who have left belongings to be engraved are being instructed to email customer service with a description of the item and the location at which it was dropped off.
“It is with a heavy heart that we had to make this difficult decision and move this swiftly, and we thank our customers and employees for all of your support these past 38 years,” the company says.
