Did I hear that correctly? Aaron Rodgers needs a second championship to solidify his legacy?
That was the take from Michael Irvin ahead of this weekend’s NFC championship game.
Rodgers has one Super Bowl, but I’m pretty sure he has already going into the Hall of Fame and is one of the purest passers the game has ever seen.
Drew Brees is another solo Super Bowl champion, as is Rodgers’ predecessor, Brett Favre. Dan Marino doesn’t have any titles.
Championships are hard to win and shouldn’t be the only factor in the legacy conversation.
Aaron Rodgers would love to win multiple Super Bowls and join the likes of Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
But he doesn’t have to. His legacy will be fine either way.
