Regina police are now investigating a murder after a man died early Friday morning.
The man was found critically injured in a home on the 500 block of Wascana Street around 1:30 a.m. EMS was called but he was pronounced dead at the scene 10 minutes later. Officers secured the scene and requested the coroner, as well as the major crimes and forensic identification units.
The identity of the man has been confirmed and his next-of-kin have been notified. Police said the victim’s name will be released by the Regina Police Service, but the family has requested to not have it released at this time.
The investigation is ongoing in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
