Travel is not recommended in the southwest part of Saskatchewan Sunday morning.
In a media release around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Swift Current RCMP advised the public to stay off the roads in the area, due to ice- and snow-covered highways.
In its 5:25 a.m. update Sunday, the province’s Highway Hotline continued the warning, citing poor visibility, icy sections, along with heavy, loose and drifting snow around Swift Current.
Drivers are also advised to be cautious if they’re travelling on Highway 1 from Rush Lake to Swift Current. The Highway Hotline lists reduced visibility, slush, icy sections and loose, swirling snow along that stretch as well.
There is also slush, swirling now and fog on Highway 1 from Gull Lake to Carmicheal.
