UPDATE: As of Sunday morning, all freezing rain and wind warnings were lifted.
Environment Canada has issued a pair of warnings for Saskatchewan — the southwest corner is under win warnings while central Saskatchewan faces the possibility of freezing rain.
Humboldt, Warman, Prince Albert and the Battlefords are all under freezing rain warnings. Environment Canada said an area of freezing rain is moving over west and north-central Saskatchewan and is tracking southeastward across the northern grainbelt. The precipitation is generally located north of Highway 5, east of Saskatoon, and north of the Yellowhead highway, west of Saskatoon. The rain is expected to exit the area Saturday night.
Meanwhile, the Swift Current, Leader and Shaunavon areas are under wind warnings.
Environment Canada said strong southwesterly winds developed over southwestern Saskatchewan and will persist throughout Saturday afternoon. Wind gusts up to 90 kilometres per hour are expected.
