The Regina Pats won their fourth straight game Friday, but for a change didn’t need extra time to do it.
Third-period goals by Austin Pratt and Carter Chorney lifted the Pats to a 4-2 WHL victory over the host Swift Current Broncos.
Regina had registered its three previous victories in games that had gone beyond regulation time. The Pats had won two games in shootouts after winning one in overtime.
Carson Denomie scored two goals for the Pats (17-26-3-2) in Friday’s victory. Sam McGinley and Alex Moar replied for the Broncos (10-35-1-3).
Donovan Buskey stopped 24 shots in the Regina goal. Isaac Poulter made 29 saves for the Broncos.
The teams are to meet again Saturday, but this time in Regina. Game time at the Brandt Centre is 7 p.m.
