The Regina Pats’ five-game WHL winning streak came to an end Tuesday in Medicine Hat.
Jonathan Brinkman and Ryan Chyzowski each scored twice and Mads Sogaard made 24 saves as the host Tigers beat the Pats 7-0.
After Brinkman scored the only goal of the first period, the Tigers scored four times in the second period to take control.
James Hamblin, Parker Gavlas, Elijah Brown and Brinkman provided Medicine Hat’s goals in the middle frame, during which the Tigers outshot Regina 19-4.
Chyzowski scored both of his goals in the third period.
Donovan Buskey started in goal for the Pats and stopped 27 of 32 shots through two periods of play. Danton Belluk took over to start the third and made 10 saves the rest of the way.
The Pats fell to 18-27-3-2 while the Tigers improved to 34-16-2-1.
Regina’s road trip through Alberta is to continue with visits to the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday and the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday.
