Extreme cold warnings are in effect for much of north-central, and south-western Saskatchewan, including Saskatoon and Regina.
Environment Canada is forecasting extreme wind chill values of -40 C to -45 C overnight. The temperatures are expected to moderate later Thursday morning.
Environment Canada is expecting a low of -33 C in Saskatoon overnight. Although the wind is expected to die down overnight, there’s a possibility of wind gusts up to 50 km/h Thursday morning.
