The Regina Pats are not enjoying their trip through Alberta.
One night after getting thumped 7-0 by the hometown Medicine Hat Tigers, Regina’s WHL team was beaten 8-1 by the host Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday.
Mark Kastelic had four goals for Calgary, which got two goals apiece from Kyle Olson and Regina product Carson Focht.
Cole Dubinsky had the lone goal for the Pats, who trailed 4-0 and 8-1 at the intermissions. The Hitmen outshot the visitors 31-7 through the first two periods.
Danton Belluk started in goal for Regina and stopped 19 of 26 shots before getting pulled at 15:57 of the second period. Donovan Buskey came on in relief and made 11 saves in just over 24 minutes of action.
Brayden Peters stopped 13 shots for Calgary (29-18-4-1).
The Pats (18-28-3-2) are to wrap up their swing through Alberta on Friday, when they’re to visit the Edmonton Oil Kings.
