The WHL’s Regina Pats wrapped up their three-game road trip through Alberta on Friday with a 5-3 victory over the host Edmonton Oil Kings.
Regina had lost the first two games of the swing by lopsided scores, falling 7-0 to the Medicine Hat Tigers on Tuesday and 8-1 to the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday.
In Edmonton, Logan Nijhoff scored two goals for the Pats, including one into an empty net.
Riley Krane added a goal and three assists for Regina, which got its other goals from Cole Dubinsky and Ryker Evans. Robbie Holmes had four assists for the Pats (19-28-3-2).
Matthew Robertson, Scott Atkinson and Logan Dowhaniuk scored goals for Edmonton (35-9-6-3), which has the second-best record in the league.
Donovan Buskey stopped 36 shots for the Pats. Sebastian Cossa made 20 saves in the Oil Kings’ net.
The Pats are to play host to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Monday. Game time at the Brandt Centre is set for 2 p.m.
