8:30 – The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation held a sanctions vote this month and are waiting for the results to return to see if job action will be coming soon. The teachers are still without a contract, and salary as well as class size and composition have been the main sticking points for the STF. Meanwhile, the province published its conciliator’s report which recommended class size and composition not be included in their new contract. Conciliation Board Chair Arne Peltz recommended both sides return to the table for further talks, but the STF says they won’t return to the table until the province changes its position and includes class size in the collective agreement. STF President Patrick Maze joins Gormley to discuss how teachers are feeling and the next steps in the negotiation process.

10:00 – Regina Mayor Michael Fougere has been back and forth on his position on controversial climate scientist Patrick Moore, who was set to speak at Regina’s sustainability conference in May. After publish backlash, Fougere asked organizers to reconsider the role Moore would have at the conference, which resulted in his keynote being pulled from the conference. Since then, Ezra Levant organized a separate event in May to host Moore in Regina. Fougere said he’ll be attending Moore’s new speech, and that he never should have been pulled from the city’s conference in the first place. Fougere joins Gormley now to clear up his position.
