A counter-protest against the rail blockades across Canada is being held at Regina City Hall Saturday at 2 p.m.
Posters taped to traffic light poles in the area are “calling all disgruntled Canadians” seeking to share opinions, learn from others and have debates about the issue.
The notice for the gathering asks questions like “do you want the Canadian economy to stop suffering?” and “are you tired of CN workers being laid off and not being able to provide for their families?”
Rail blockades are in place by protestors standing in solidarity with Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs who are against a natural gas pipeline in B.C.
The blockades have led to the temporary layoffs of about 1,000 Via Rail workers and another 450 CN Rail employees.
