The Saskatchewan Rush used a second quarter offensive onslaught to beat the Philadelphia Wings 15-10 Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The win extends the Rush’ road record to 5-0, best in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) this season.
Ryan Keenan started a five-goal run by the Rush at the end of the first quarter and beginning of the second quarter to put Saskatchewan up 7-3 with nearly 12 minutes to go until halftime.
The Rush wouldn’t look back and never gave up the lead for the rest of the game. Philadelphia got to withing two goals of a tie on a couple occasions, but could not overcome the wide deficit.
Austin Murphy, Saskatchewan’s 2017 fourth-round draft pick, scored his first career NLL goal in the win.
Jeff Shattler, Ben McIntosh and Keenan all scored hat tricks for the Rush. McIntosh added three assists to his total while Keenan and Shattler tallied two assists.
Mark Matthews led all players with nine points with one goal and eight assists.
Rush goalie Evan Kirk made 40 saves for the win.
The Rush are back at SaskTel Centre on Saturday to host the Toronto Rock.
