Emergency crews moved fast to put out a house fire on Rae Street near Seventh Avenue on Tuesday morning.
Nobody was hurt because the house was empty.
Deputy Fire Chief Neil Sundeen said the call came in at 9:04 a.m. and firefighters arrived to find a single-family home that was “quite involved.”
Inside, they found heavy smoke and flames.
Sundeen said the fire started in a bedroom before spreading to the bathroom and then the roof, but crews were able to contain it.
The house has since been boarded up and toxic gases will be allowed to air out before the investigation into the cause of the blaze begins.
