A woman who has been at the forefront of planning the Regina Folk Festival (RFF) for about two decades is no longer with the organization.
Regina Folk Festival Board President Melissa Biro confirmed by email the festival has “parted ways” with the long-time artistic director Sandra Butel. She went on to say no one from the non-profit organization will be discussing “personnel matters” at this time.
When 980 CJME reached out to Butel asking about the circumstances of whether she left or was removed, she replied via social media message.
“I can only confirm I no longer work for the RFF and, on the advice of my legal counsel, cannot say more at this time,” Butel wrote.
Planning for this year’s festival is continuing and the dates are set for August 7 to 9 in Victoria Park.
