8:30 – Talks resumed Thursday between the government and the Wet’suwet’en Nation hereditary chiefs at the centre of the anti-pipeline protests seen across Canada, and the parties will continue meeting today. But meanwhile the protests attempting to block rail traffic have turned ugly in some areas, particularly at Tyendinaga near Belleville, Ontario, where protesters lit fires and threw pallets under moving trains this week, leading to accusations of terrorism and 10 people facing criminal charges. Alex Filipe, a reporter/photog with the Belleville Intelligencer, witnessed some of the action at the blockade, and he joins Gormley to discuss the blockade and whether or not the situation has calmed now that talks are resuming.

12:00 – The organizers of last year’s truck convoy to Regina got along so well they decided to go into business together. The group of partners, including Blair Stewart, Carter Stewart, Dale Mainil, Calvin Tracey, and Jason LeBlanc, intends to construct a rail loading facility in Weyburn. The Weyburn Industrial TransLoad (WIT) project is expected to start off handling sand and gravel before expanding to petroleum and agricultural products as well. Carter Stewart, the project’s GM of business development, joins Gormley to discuss the opportunities created by the venture.
