Drivers are waking up to a slick drive in Saskatchewan on Sunday morning after snowfall overnight.
Environment Canada meteorologist Mark Melsness says Saskatoon saw about an inch-and-a-half.
Not as much in Regina, but he is urging caution on the roads.
“After the mild conditions yesterday, a sudden onslaught of snow and cold and wind. Probably iced things up pretty good,” Melsness says.
“There’s not a lot of snow left out there but Highways are probably still pretty icy. So just take the appropriate precautions if you’re heading out on the roads this morning.”
Highway Hotline was showing winter driving conditions all across the province with a few spots where travel is not recommended.
Highway 11 from Davidson to Dundurn was a problem area, with northbound traffic closed at Blackstrap Hill.
Texters into 980 CJME and 650 CKOM reported multiple vehicles spinning out.
Caller Langdon was delayed, watching tow trucks drag vehicles from the valley.
“People need to drive slow and make sure they have winter tires on until it’s actually spring,” he said.
Earlier, travel was not recommended north west of the Battlefords, and also on Highway 16 between Highway 2 and Foam Lake.
Conditions there have since improved.
