UFC is returning to Saskatchewan and that’s a good thing.
Whether you think the sport is one of the best entertainment options out there or you wouldn’t walk across the street to watch it with a free ticket, you can’t deny the major promoter that is Dana White and UFC choosing Saskatchewan and SaskTel Centre is good.
Saskatoon more than impressed in its first go-around with a Fight Night card in 2015 and it took five years for UFC to make another go in Saskatchewan.
Of course former premier Brad Wall’s government has to take credit for passing legislation to allow MMA events in the province, though it took more than long enough.
Saskatchewan is proving to be much bigger than just crazy CFL fans. The Saskatchewan Rush has helped that sentiment that when you buy a ticket, you want a show.
UFC will bring that in June and it hasn’t even announced the main card fights yet. It teased some pretty big names who could be highlighting this card on the Green Zone on Wednesday.
It’s also a great showcase for the Bridge City on the world stage with millions watching globally.
