8:30 – With Saskatchewan reporting its first presumptive case of COVID-19 on Thursday, we wanted to check in again with epidemiologist Dr. Timothy Sly. Dr. Sly helped manage the SARS outbreak in Toronto, and knows how quickly diseases can spread among populations. Sly says initial containment efforts and increased hygiene are extremely important in the face of the virus, but says it’s no time for hysterics. He joins Gormley now to discuss the outbreak.

10:00 – The cancellation of the 2020 Juno Awards along with a number of other events have come as a blow to the tourism industry in this province, especially in Saskatoon where the Junos were scheduled to take place over the weekend. Todd Brandt is the President and CEO of Tourism Saskatoon, and he joins Gormley to discuss the economic impact COVID-19 is causing for the hospitality and tourism industry, and what he expects to see over the coming weeks.

10:30 – While some Saskatoon residents go into self-isolation after the province’s first presumptive case of COVID-19, Al Stickney is in a more serious quarantine. Stickney, a Saskatoon resident, was onboard the Grand Princess cruise ship where 20 cases of the virus were reported, and he and his wife are now sitting in quarantine at CFB Trenton in Ontario. Stickney joins Gormley with an update on his situation and how he’s feeling after nearly a week in the military quarantine.
