The Regina Police is updating the public about a high-risk search and warrant operation involving SWAT team members on Saturday night.
In a media release, the police service said its Special Weapons and Tactics team was called to a home on the 900 block of 15th Avenue, in the Al Ritchie area, “as part of an ongoing investigation by the Regina Police Service Drug Unit.”
The release didn’t say what time the SWAT team was called to the home, only that it was Saturday evening.
Police members were able to arrest and detain “a number of people,” the release said, but it didn’t specify how many, or if any drugs or weapons were seized.
The police service said it intends to give further media updates on who is charged and with what, once the drug unit finishes investigating the case.
