Moose Jaw will be closing all city facilities as a response to the threat of COVID-19.
The city made the announcement Monday.
All essential services will continue.
Moose Jaw City Council will continue with their meeting schedule, but meetings will be closed to the public. A live stream of the meetings will be available on the City of Moose Jaw YouTube channel.
City council has cancelled all committee meetings until further notice.
The landfill will remain open on its regular schedule.
All open house information sessions relating to the water mains have been cancelled. The City of Moose Jaw said it is preparing other means of delivering information about the water main replacement program.
The city’s transit service will implement safety precautions for passengers and drivers, including passenger boarding and disembarking at the rear door of the bus.
Alternate fare boxes will be placed near the front of the bus, over the passenger-side wheel wells and will be monitored by drivers. Individuals with walkers or other mobility aids will still be accommodated via the ramp at the front bus entrances.
Buses will also be sanitized daily.
The city says emergency operations centre staff continue to meet daily.
