Council retroactively slashed $1.33 million in rent owed by the Roughriders.
SARCAN Recycling announced Saturday afternoon that it will close its network of facilities until further notice.
In a news release, the company said it would be doing so to minimize damage caused by COVID-19 and that social distance is the best way to reduce risk of transmission.
“As rates of new infections continue to grow in our province, we are acting to protect the health and wellbeing of our 700 dedicated recyclers, our customers, our partners, and our communities,” the statement said.
“At this time all of our hourly workers will continue to receive pay in alignment with their usually scheduled hours.”
The company is telling customers to save their deposit beverage containers, paint and electronics once it reopens.
