The Regina Police Service is investigating an incident that sent a cab driver to hospital with serious injuries.
Police say they got a call Saturday about 8:45 p.m., reporting a weapons offence in the 1800 block of Atkinson Street. At the scene, officers found an injured man who subsequently was taken to hospital.
In a media release, police say a taxi driver was taking a passenger to a home in that area. Upon arrival, the passenger reportedly took off without paying.
When the cabbie got out of his vehicle to get payment, he was assaulted with an unknown object.
