A 30-year-old man from Edmonton has been charged with arson after a fire in south Regina early Monday.
According to the Regina Police Service, officers and Regina firefighters responded at about 1:20 a.m., to a report of a structure fire on the Trans-Canada Highway service road near Lewvan Drive.
“Early reports indicated a building was on fire and a male was alleged to have been seen walking away from the building,” the police said in a media release.
Officers found a man matching the suspect’s description on Lewvan Drive just north of the service road. Police said the man had burns on his body, so he was taken to hospital by paramedics.
He’s to make his first court appearance on Sept. 9.
