8:30 – On Wednesday the Sask. Health Authority released three models for how COVID-19 may look in Saskatchewan. While the models aren’t meant to be predictions, they do contain some scary figures including a death toll ranging from 3,075 to 8,370 in this province alone. The scenarios are based on how many people each infected person will spread COVID-19 to, and assume values between 2.4 and 4. Epidemiologist Dr. Timothy Sly joins Gormley to explain what this kind of modeling means, what it’s used for, and what we may actually see in Saskatchewan if we continue to take serious measures to contain the virus.
