A 17-year-old Regina woman is facing eight charges after a pair of incidents involving a Taser.
In a media release Wednesday, the Regina Police Service said officers were sent at about 10:25 p.m., to a house in the 1700 block of St. John Street for a report of a weapons offence.
Police were told there had been an argument and one of the participants had a Taser. The suspect reportedly assaulted two people, smashed a window and left the house.
Soon after, police got a report of another weapons offence, this one involving a woman who had used a Taser on an employee of a business in the 1700 block of Dewdney Avenue East.
A canine unit helped officers track down the suspect in a house in the 100 block of Fischer Street, where she was arrested and the Taser was seized.
The woman, who can’t be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing three charges of assault with a weapon, two counts each of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon and assault, and one charge of mischief under $5,000. She’s to appear in Youth Court on Wednesday.
