Two youths were arrested after a man and a woman were assaulted and threatened in Regina on Monday.
According to the Regina Police Service, the incident happened at about 3:50 p.m., in the area of Jubilee Avenue and Turgeon Crescent, where the couple were assaulted and threatened by a female youth and a male youth carrying a knife.
No one was injured, but the girl allegedly struck the woman in the face. The suspects ran off before police arrived.
A canine team responded and tracked a 15-year-old girl, who was arrested. The dog and its handler continued to search and found the 16-year-old boy a short time later.
The teens can’t be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The girl was charged with assault and is to appear in court July 13.
The boy is facing three charges of uttering threats, two of assault with a weapon (a knife) and one of breach of undertaking. He made his first court appearance Tuesday.
