DeMar DeRozan is right about sports. But you can apply his tweet on Sunday to many other things.
The former Toronto Raptors star stated: “Sports will be appreciated at an all-time high after this & played at an even higher level.”
Yes. Of course the first games back for basketball will feel like Game 7 of the NBA final.
As for the athletes, DeRozan touches on the basic human trait of taking things for granted. We all do it.
Whether it’s time with family, friends or many other things, after COVID-19 and self-isolation and social and physical distancing, all those little things all of a sudden are starting to seem like big things.
We’re going to enjoy plenty of things differently and more patiently, whether it’s to DeRozan’s point about sports or whether it’s another part of life like the Sunday dinner with family.
Everything will have a different and more significant feeling. Hopefully that feeling lasts a while before we start taking things for granted again.
