The Regina Police Service has launched an investigation into the death of a man whose body was found in a burning vehicle early Wednesday.
In a media release, police said officers discovered a parked vehicle that was on fire in the area of 13th Avenue and Embury Street at about 5:30 a.m. Regina Fire and Protective Services personnel were called to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
The investigation revealed there was a person inside the vehicle; the man was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
The RPS’s major crimes and forensic identification units were called, as was the coroner. Investigators now are trying to determine the circumstances of the man’s death.
Police said the man’s family has been notified, but didn’t provide any other details.
