Golfers in Regina have been struggling to deal with the wind in recent rounds.
On Monday, the Queen City was dealing with a west wind at 40 kilometres per hour with gusts up to 60 km/h.
It wasn’t as strong as it has been in recent days, but it still made things tough for a group of friends out for a round at the Royal Regina Golf Club.
Ron Wight had some bad luck with the wind gusting directly towards him, making it quite a bit harder to hit the ball far enough.
“We’ve been going up two, sometimes three clubs in order to get the ball where you want to get it,” he said.
However, his game wasn’t the only thing on which the wind put a damper.
“It’s tiring walking into that wind for 3 1/2 hours,” Wight said.
Despite the annoyance, he still managed to have a good time out on the course.
“It’s Saskatchewan, right?” he said. “If you’re not going to play in the wind, you’re not going to play a whole heck of a lot … We just go and make the best of it.”
Areas of the province have been buffeted by stiff breezes over the past week, including some that made it difficult for farmers to get their work done.
Saskatoon dealt with higher winds Monday; Environment Canada said the Bridge City had to contend in the early hours with winds that gusted close to 100 km/h.
