People will be allowed to start working out in gyms on a limited basis starting Monday, but the YMCA of Regina is taking a gradual approach to reopening.
The YMCA’s northwest location on Rochdale Boulevard will be the first to reopen on June 22, followed by the east location on Victoria Avenue on July 8.
“With health, safety and the provincial requirements in mind and recognizing the unique operations of each of our various locations, the YMCA will be bringing locations back online through a staged opening approach,” the organization says in a news release.
“This will allow the YMCA to configure the facilities for social distancing, provide staff with increased protocol training and to secure the proper level of supplies to provide the safest experience possible for all guests.”
The YMCA’s downtown location won’t open until the Saskatchewan government has a date for Phase 4 of its plan to lift COVID-19 restrictions.
“This staged approach will allow the YMCA to monitor our member traffic for all locations and be able to scale operations as demand for services increase,” the release says.
