RCMP say four people were hurt during a head-on collision west of Humboldt on Wednesday.
The crash between a car and SUV occurred shortly before noon on Highway 5, roughly 11 kilometres west of city.
One person was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Mounties say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The highway reopened late Wednesday afternoon.
